Science Success for Amelia

Friday 23rd May 2014

Congratulations to Amelia, U4, who has been selected as the winner of the Senior category in the National Science and Engineering Week (NSEW) school competition. As a prize, Amelia received a Sphero and her winning poster will be displayed on the British Science Association website

For the National Science and Engineering Week 2014 Out-of-the-Box Ideas Challenge, students were asked to envision the world of the future, in the year 2114. Students thought about what the world will be like in 100 years and then shared a vision of a development they thought would have come into practice. These included new products, scientific, technological or medical advancements and designs to help deal with demands on natural resources.

Amelia’s winning poster was entitled ‘Internet Delivery Printer’, where items ordered on the internet could be printed at home!

Almost 10,000 students participated from over 200 schools and submissions included posters, collages, graphic designs and photos of models, and they were judged by a panel based on how innovative, researched and well-presented they were.

Congratulations to Amelia!
