Queen Anne’s Pupils Take Part in Kids’ Lit Quiz In Oxford

Wednesday 4th December 2013

On Tuesday 26 November, two teams from Queen Anne’s set off to battle it out at the local heat for the international Kids’ Lit Quiz being held at St Gregory the Great School in Oxford.  We were all really looking forward to taking part and sharing our love of books.

Each team consisted of four students and were asked to answer 100 questions on children’s literature divided into ten categories, including general knowledge, characters from legends, saints, foxes, horses, riddles and body parts! In total, 42 teams from Oxfordshire and Berkshire competed and the level of literary knowledge was extremely high amongst all the schools.

The atmosphere at the competition was electric with all the contestants furiously whispering to each other and sharing their knowledge of books in an effort to answer correctly as many questions as possible.

Both Queen Anne’s teams did really well and one of our teams managed to get onto the leader board which was a great achievement but victory was not to be ours this time.

It was an amazing experience for all of us and there are certainly some books that I heard about on the day that I will now be planning to read.
