Queen Anne's Reach Semi-Finals Of WOHAA

Monday 29th June 2015

Queen Anne’s WOHAA teams, Team “Fusion” and Team “Big Dreamers” have both reached the semi-final of the Wings of Hope Achievement Award (WOHAA).

Team “Fusion”, consisting of Alice Brazil, Amelia De Normann, Lola Martin, Amber-Rose Cooper, Charlotte Way and Florence Weaver, and Team “Big Dreamers”, consisting of Halima Ali, Karina Avdalyan, Patricia Obuseh, Anandita Sood, Luna Tian and Charlotte Peachey, had the privilege and opportunity to present their fundraising projects to a respected panel of judges at the House of Lords.

Through fundraising, Team “Big Dreamers” managed to raise £612 while Team “Fusion” raised £750 for WOHAA, which is a charity competition that supports the education of children in Malawi and India. Over the past few months both teams have managed to raise money through a series of events ranging from small projects such as cake sales to big projects like socials and the spring fair.

The teams presented in front of a panel of judges at the House of Lords, led by Sir David Jason and Dr Sri Ram on Thursday 25 June. If their achievements and presentations impress the panel, they will be eligible to win one of the six prizes and an opportunity to receive an all expenses paid trip to India for the Best Overall winners.

Good luck to all our students involved.
