Queen Anne's Exhibit At The Foundation Schools' Art Exhibition
Friday 28th November 2014
On Tuesday 25 November, the Queen Anne’s School Art department and art scholars travelled to Westminster City School in Central London to attend the Private View of the annual Foundation Schools Annual Art Exhibition.
As well as Queen Anne’s, the exhibition included work from students from all the Foundation schools including Westminster City School in Westminster, Grey Coat Hospital in Westminster, Emanuel School in Wandsworth and Sutton Valence School in Kent.
This year, six students from Queen Anne’s contributed examples of their GCSE and A Level work, including painting, drawing, mixed media and photography pieces. U6 students Sophie Grundy, Verity Taylor, Celine Kwan, Yijia Wu and Zoe Webb all contributed two pieces each, and Charlotte Way, L6, exhibited her GCSE unit final piece.
The exhibition was a busy event, with a wide variety of works in all media including some large 3D pieces showing a fascinating breadth of approaches and of techniques, which showcased the creativity of all the students. The work by the girls from Queen Anne’s was received very positively, indeed to rave reviews. This year the exhibition was very generously hosted by Westminster City School in their school hall.
