Pancake Fun At Queen Anne's
Friday 7th March 2014
On Tuesday 4 March, Queen Anne’s got into the pancake spirit by holding a House Pancake competition in the Hall during lunchtime.
Congratulations go to Wilkins House who won the competition overall and to Wisdome House who came second. Webbe House placed 3rd, Ffyler House came 4th and Maddock House were 5th.
Each house were given the task to make 20 pancakes in the shortest amount of time using a traditional pancake and toppings of their choice. Marks were given for flavour, appearance and time taken to make 20 pancakes. Extra points were also given for a number of girls per house who took part in the competition. The competition was fast and frantic with girls creating an array of different pancakes with toppings including whipped cream, ice cream, chocolate and strawberries.
Mrs Harrington, Headmistress, and Miss Coombs, Deputy Head – Pastoral, were the judges for the competition and both thoroughly enjoyed tasting the wide selection of pancakes created by the houses.
