Mad Hatter's Tea Party

Monday 21st January 2013

On Sunday the 13 of January boarders from Maddock and Wilkins joined together for the Mad Hatter’s Tea Party. Everyone wore a hat for the occasion, we had everything from mini umbrella hats and shark shower caps to normal woolly hats! We played lots of games like pass the parcel and musical chairs. Pass the parcel was really fun because underneath each layer was a trivial question, it was really funny watching people either try to remember or work out the answer! Then we sat down and enjoyed tea and cakes.

We ate cakes made by the school and by girls that had competed in the Great QAS Bake Off that morning. We had a competition to judge which cake looked and tasted the best, and after tasting rainbow cakes, cupcakes, and a lemon curd cake, the teachers finally decided that the really cute teddy bear cake made by the Wilkins girls was the winner. They were rewarded with sweets, not that anyone wanted them after the amount of cake that had just been eaten!

Finally we played a game that involved 15 marshmallows and 15 cocktail sticks; we had to see which team could make the best freestanding 3D model. In the end a great model of the Eiffel Tower won. The tea party was lots of fun and gave me time to chat and have fun with my friends!
