A “Splendid” Evening of Drama!

Wednesday 24th September 2014

A splendid time was had by all when “Splendid Theatre Company” visited dramaramaland recently as part of the department’s programme of events, which provide girls with the opportunity to work with professionals in the world of theatre and the performing arts.

The visiting theatre company performed their version of Georg Buchner’s dark and sinister play “Woyzeck” to an audience of GCSE and A level dramanauts in the Performing Arts Centre. Following supper, the group stayed on to run a 3 hour workshop with some of the girls. The workshop focused on “performance skills” and it provided the girls with some very valuable advice as they begin to focus on their practical drama examinations in the spring.

Dramaramaland now looks forward to future workshops this year including an evening with Olivier-nominated actor Gerrard Logan (formerly of the Royal Shakespeare Company) and a workshop and Q&A session with rising television star (and former Queen Anne’s pupil) Nicola Millbank.
