L6 Art Students Visit Reading University

Wednesday 22nd November 2017

A Level Art students from Queen Anne’s visited the Reading University Centre for Integrative Neuroscience and Neurodynamics (CINN) to meet with Professor Tom Johnstone.

On Thursday 9 November, a group of Sixth Former’s from Queen Anne’s visited the CINN in order to learn about the structure of the brain as well as billions of neuron connections that the brain makes every day.

They visited the department’s MRI scanner as well as learning about the trials that Professor Johnstone is currently running. The students’ aim is to create a piece of art that reflects the connections, pathways and intricacies of the brain.

An exhibition of the work created at Queen Anne’s is planned for the Summer of 2018 and it will also be used by Professor Johnstone himself in order to inspire other artists and scientists alike.
