Meet the team
When you arrive at Queen Anne’s whether this be for a visit, an Open Morning or an entrance exam, you will be greeted by one of our fantastic Admissions team led by our Registrar, Mrs Rachel Wright.
They will make the duration of your visit to Queen Anne’s as comfortable and welcoming as possible as well as being able to answer any question that you may have. Before you arrive, why not familiarise yourself with our team who will greet you when you come to visit our beautiful school.
Mrs Rachel Wright
Rachel Wright has been a familiar and friendly face at Queen Anne’s School for nearly 10 years. Following the completion of her course in Leadership and Management (ILM), she became Registrar in January 2017 after working for five years in our Admissions Office where she honed many of the skills required to become a highly effective Registrar. Rachel was recently awarded a Certificate in Admissions Management, with Distinction by AMDIS.
Rachel previously enjoyed part time roles at Queen Anne’s whilst juggling her busy home life. As the mother to two sporty boys she was content to help us on a part time basis in the admissions office, a boarding house, the PE department and within the geography department where she taught some of our L4 (year 7) Geography classes. Pre-motherhood, Rachel completed a BSc. in Geography and an MSc. in Natural Resource Management at Leicester University and gained lots of work and life experience as an adviser for the National Farmers Union.
Rachel enjoys meeting pupils and parents and helping to guide them expertly though the admissions process. Come and meet Rachel; you will find that her 10-year experience of Queen Anne’s School enables her to answer many of your questions to help guide you through the admissions process.
Ms Susan Fontenelle
Susan Fontenelle joined the admissions team in June 2017. She joined us from Highfield Preparatory School in Maidenhead, a school from which we have welcomed many lovely girls. Susan enjoyed being an office administrator at Highfield for 6 years. Here at Queen Anne’s, Susan will be an initial contact for you and parents all over the world. She uses her strong interpersonal and organisational skills to meet the demands of this varied role.
Susan studied at Westminster Catering College in London and completed a HND in Hotel, Catering & Institutional Management.She gained many work and life experiences working in the corporate catering industry in London and then as a District Manager, managing the school catering provision for 20 Primary and Secondary schools across the Bracknell and Wokingham district. Originally from Essex, she moved to Maidenhead where she has lived for the last 19 years with her children and adopted cat.
In her spare time, Susan enjoys going for long walks, gardening or immersing herself in a creative project. She has a real passion for up cycling unwanted items, re-purposing them and giving them new life.
Mrs Michelle Green
Michelle joined the admissions team in June 2018. She previously enjoyed working at South Lake Primary School in Woodley, in the Reception class. Michelle supported a class teacher as an Early Years Practitioner, developing strong partnerships with the children and their parents.
Michelle’s career in Early Years started when her own children began pre-school. She started as a parent helper and took the decision to enrol to retrain to become an Early Years Practitioner which led to her later taking on the role of supervisor.
Michelle started her working life within a Human Resources department as an administrator rising to the role of Personal Assistant to the Managing Director. These roles enabled Michelle to gain strong administration, customer service and organisational skills which certainly help in the busy Admissions office at Queen Anne’s school!
In her spare time Michelle enjoys Zumba and is a qualified Zumba instructor sharing her enthusiasm with others by teaching evening classes. She also enjoys musical theatre watching both West End shows and local amateur performances.
Mrs Eileen Aldous
Eileen Aldous joined the Admissions team in January 2019. She previously worked at Queen Anne’s as an Exam Invigilator and Cover Assistant using her teaching qualification. This work has given her a valuable knowledge of Queen Anne’s and how the girls are taught, the curriculum and the examination process.
Eileen’s career started after completing a BSc. in Biochemistry. She worked at WRc plc for over 28 years as an Environmental Toxicologist working with Government Departments, Utility Companies, Industry and the Public. Her key areas of expertise included the evaluation of toxicity and environmental fate of chemicals in the aquatic and terrestrial environments, sewage treatment and wastewater. She undertook a wide variety of roles from project management requiring high organisational and communication skills to project scientist requiring a high degree of detail and innovation and ability to multi-task. She has also written numerous reports and journal papers.
In her spare time, Eileen enjoys spending time with her family and friends, walking her dog, gardening and cooking scrumptious dishes.
