Teacher of Philosophy

Part Time – 0.6 FTE

Required: September 2019 – August 2020

The Role

We are seeking to appoint a qualified, enthusiastic and inspirational Teacher of Philosophy. The successful candidate will be required to teach AQA A Level Philosophy (specification 7172) to our upper sixth form cohort.

This is a one-year position, commencing on 1 September 2019 and ending on 31 August 2020.

Qualified Teacher Status is desirable but not essential for this post. Postgraduate students who have recently completed or are reaching the end of their studies are welcome to apply.

The successful candidate will:

  • develop excellence within their teaching and inspire the students;
  • be committed to promoting philosophy as a subject across the whole school;
  • have flair and vision to develop new initiatives within the school;
  • be instrumental in maintaining a happy and safe environment whilst stretching students to their full potential;

Careers Advisor

Part Time

Required for September 2019

The Role

We are seeking to appoint a qualified, enthusiastic and inspirational Careers Advisor for this academically selective and dynamic school.

The successful candidate will:

  • provide an inspiring and best practice careers service throughout the School.
  • provide engaging and interactive careers advice, guidance and support on subject options and post-school choices.
  • develop, implement and review a strategic plan, which guides the policies, plans, targets and practices of the Careers provision at Queen Anne’s.
  • be committed to a boarding and day school ethos.

Graduate Assistants

Residential

Required for September 2019

The Role

We are seeking to appoint a number of Graduate Assistants who are interested in a career either in education or in pastoral care.

These positions are very varied and fulfilling and offer great opportunities for graduates interested in the pastoral care of young people.

The positions will be residential with accommodation available for use during the holiday times also. No charge is made for the accommodation or food during the school term.

We are keen to hear from post-graduates or students due to graduate in the summer 2019.

The primary role of the Graduate Assistant is to work within the boarding environment to get to know the girls and build up a relationship of trust with them. The Graduate Assistants will be expected to be ready to give support to the House staff team. In addition, they will have other responsibilities in school depending on her areas of expertise and interests.

School Minibus Driver

Part Time – 16 Hours Per Week

Required for September 2019

The Role

We are looking for a reliable School Minibus Driver to drive a group of pupils from Queen Anne’s to London on a Friday evening and from London to Queen Anne’s on a Monday morning. Friday service will normally leave at 6.30pm, or 4.30pm if before half term or the end of term, and picks up in London from approximately 6.15am on a Monday morning. Both services are an approximate 3 hour round trip for the driver.

We are also looking for the successful candidate to be able to commit to driving a group of girls to after school activities on Tuesdays 4.15pm- 7pm and Thursdays 4.15-6.30pm/7pm.

The remaining hours to be made up of driving for ad-hoc school trips and sports matches and cleaning the two minibuses.

You will be flexible, cheerful and possess good communication skills.

Rate of pay is £12 per hour.

Examination Invigilators

We are always interested to hear from applicants who are interested in joining our exam invigilation team for during examination periods. The invigilation team oversee the examination hall and provide access arrangements such as scribes and readers for pupils who require additional help and support.

Training is provided and so no previous experience is necessary.
