Events Assistant

Part Time

Start Date: January 2019

The Role

This role has been created due to the increase in internal and external events held at Queen Anne’s School, alongside a growing demand for letting out the venues at Queen Anne’s and to continue to promote external business opportunities.

The successful candidate will assist the Events Manager in the organisation of external lettings on the school premises and all events that take place during the school term. The working hours for this role will be 20 hours per week, generally Monday to Friday but flexibility will be needed for evening and weekend events.

The successful candidate will:

  • Have excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Have the ability to keep calm under pressure
  • Be computer literate with intermediate experience of the Microsoft programmes, MS Word, Excel and Powerpoint. Technical awareness to set up PowerPoint and other simple AV systems
  • Have excellent negotiation and problem-solving skills
  • Have the ability to work with minimum supervision on an ongoing basis and once training has been completed

BrainCanDo Sales and Marketing Co-Ordinator

Part Time

Required for Immediate Start

The Role

We are seeking to appoint an experienced and highly capable Sales and Marketing Co-ordinator. The successful candidate will work closely within the BrainCanDo team, based at Queen Anne’s School and help to develop the sales and marketing of this expanding centre for research. The successful applicant will be reaching out to a range of educational establishments, e.g. secondary schools in England (both state and independent), teacher training organisations and relevant external conferences. This will include identifying and contacting relevant external events with a view to raising the profile of the BrainCanDo organisation and to maintain regular communications with all BrainCanDo customers, delegates and contacts.

The successful candidate will:

  •  Have experience working in education, ideally including the independent sector
  • Have an interest in the development of BrainCanDo learning tools and training materials
  • Be confident, organised and have meticulous attention to detail
  • Be pro-active and self-motivated
  • Have highly developed interpersonal skills and be an effective communicator
  • Have excellent written skills
  • Be able use all IT and social media effectively in this role

The working hours are 20 hours per week based upon flexible hours according to the needs at the time. Likely to be on a Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.

School Porter

Full Time – All Year Round

Required for Immediate Start

The Role

We are looking for a hard working School Porter who will be required to work Monday to Friday 37.5 hours a week with some evening and weekend working. You will be flexible, reliable and possess good communication skills. The position will report in to the Events Manager and will be responsible for setting up and breaking down school events, moving furniture, minor maintenance tasks and some cleaning as required.

The successful candidate will:

  • Have a positive, enthusiastic and flexible manner to this key role in the school.
  • Have a high degree of physical fitness in order to lift awkward and heavy items.
  • Good spoken English and ability to understand written instructions.
  • Be practical, dedicated and highly motivated.
  • Have the ability to prioritise and to seek advice when necessary.
  • Ensure the safe keeping of all equipment and materials for events.

Examination Invigilators

We are always interested to hear from applicants who are interested in joining our exam invigilation team for during examination periods. The invigilation team oversee the examination hall and provide access arrangements such as scribes and readers for pupils who require additional help and support.

Training is provided and so no previous experience is necessary.
