Super Swimming Performances At St Mary’s School Gala

Wednesday 19th October 2016

U15 Swim Team at St Mary’s School Ascot Gala

Fielding a very youthful Queen Anne’s School ‘Open’ swimming team, Mr Blunt was delighted to witness a super team effort, gaining a hard fought 2nd place overall in an age category that saw our girls competing against far more senior swimmers.

Hawley Place, St Mary’s Ascot, Farnborough Hill, Wycombe High School and Queen Anne’s produced an excellent school standard gala, with a whole host of club swimmers on display. Zoe Campbell, Maddie Clark, Sophia Ekundayo, Amber Richards and Melissa Scanlon put in fine displays but Mr Blunt would like to pay an extra tribute to Molly Renders, Amy McCall and Lucy Goudge – all of whom only swam one leg of a relay race but without their commitment and undoubted swimming ability, there would have been far less success gained overall. Well done to the whole squad.

U13 Swim Team at St Mary’s School Ascot Gala

The U13 team swam superbly well in a high standard gala at against Hawley Place, St Mary’s School Ascot, Farnborough Hill and Wycombe High School. With a whole array of good quality club swimmers on display from all the competing schools, Mr Blunt was over the moon at the way all the U13 girls acquitted themselves, not wanting to highlight any one individual. It was truly a terrific team effort with Olive Richards, Charlotte Goforth, Georgina Lewis, Harriet Seaton, Claudia Mowat and Louisa Haycock taking Queen Anne’s School to 2nd place in their age category. Super stuff girls.
