Two drama students, Annabel Leigh, aged 15 years, and drama scholar, Megan Greeves, 17 years, from Queen Anne’s School, Caversham, have been awarded places at the internationally acclaimed National Youth Theatre.
They will work with theatre directors and other professionals to develop their acting, and technical disciplines as well as their creative and social skills.
Each year many hundreds of budding actors and actresses, aged between 13 and 21 years from all over the UK, audition for places on the prestigious two-week course at the theatre headquarters in London. Only a handful of those who audition are accepted.
Rhodri Punter, Head of Drama at Queen Anne’s said: ‘We congratulate the girls. Both Annabel and Megan have contributed greatly to the vibrant life of drama at Queen Anne’s and their success at the National Youth Theatre is a fitting reward for their efforts.’
