Winning is Not Everything – Queen Anne’s Swimmers Perform Well Again

Friday 3rd February 2017

U12 Swimming Report

The U12 team really played their part in a very exciting and high quality school swimming gala held at Downe House School. The tri gala had everyone clapping and cheering from the supporters balcony, as each race produced terrific swimming and exciting finishes.

Luisa Brandon (50m Frontcrawl) and Isabel Welch (50m Backstroke) really took the eye with great wins. Lauren Stokes impressed with two excellent 2nd place finishes in the demanding Individual Medley and 50m Butterfly. Mr Blunt was delighted with the whole squad and is hugely encouraged by the talent and infectious enthusiasm on display. The future looks bright.

U14 Swimming Report

Between them, Queen Anne’s, Downe House and St Swithun’s put on a great display of swimming at the tri gala held at Downe House School. The standard of swimming throughout the whole U14 programme was super impressive with individual wins for Harriet Seaton (25m Backstroke), Olive Richards (50m Breaststroke) and Amy McCall (50m Frontcrawl) being three of the big highlights.

Race after race, fast, exciting, nail biting finishes, kept us all on the edge of our seats. All the girls deserve huge praise and Mr Blunt was particularly proud of the teams unity and the high level of swimming that was much in evidence.
