Star-Studded Evening At The Launch Of The Queen Anne’s Boat Club
Tuesday 28th June 2016
On Saturday the 11 of June, Queen Anne’s hosted their first ever Boat Club Dinner, attended by parents, pupils, members of staff and Alumni members.
We were lucky enough to have 9 Olympians attending the evening including Andy Triggs-Hodge, George Nash, Vicky Thornley, Jessica Eddie, Sam Townsend, Moe Sbihi, Melanie Wilson, Graeme Thomas and one of our own Queen Anne’s Alumni members, Olivia Carnegie-Brown. All the athletes in attendance have qualified to race at this year’s 2016 Olympics, taking place in Rio de Janeiro. Mr Tim Dellor, BBC Radio Berkshire’s Sports Presenter was also the official Master of Ceremonies for the evening.
Tim hosted our auction and the Q&A session with the Olympians following dinner and it was fantastic to hear all the athletes answer questions and talk about their sporting experiences, which were very inspirational. The evening was a huge success and we were lucky enough to raise a fantastic sum of money that will now go towards our new coxless quad. We still have a little way to reaching our target but what a great start!
We would like to say a huge thank you to all of our Olympians, Mr Tim Dellor, our Catering team and to all of the parents and friends of the school for showing so much support. We feel very lucky that we have so many special people that will be part of our amazing journey going forward.
