Sophie Volunteers at the DSISO European Open Swimming Championships in Paris

Friday 8th December 2017

In November, Sophie W (U6) attended the DSISO European Open Swimming Championships in Paris, which was the first synchronised swimming competition that she had taken part in as a coach.

Sophie has been volunteering with Electric Eels, a swimming and synchro club for people with Down’s Syndrome, for nearly two years and earlier this year qualified as a Level 1 Synchronised Swimming Coach.

This year she has been choreographing and coaching a routine for Vivian who trains hard every Saturday at Windsor Leisure Centre. The GB Down’s Syndrome team and coaches spent 4 days in Paris, attending the opening ceremony and preparing for their events. They had a very successful competition and each swimmer came home with a medal as well as having had a brilliant time.

Congratulations to Sophie from everyone at Queen Anne’s.
