The Sixth Form Spanish Students visit the Cervantes Institute
Friday 24th November 2017
The Sixth Form Spanish students from Queen Anne’s went to London to watch La Casa de Bernarda Alba in Spanish at the Cervantes Institute.
The play is based on a what they have been studying as part of their A Level Spanish course and Olivia S (U6) took the time to comment on the trip.
“The study of the play La Casa de Bernarda Alba was undoubtedly a challenging task; for its subtle analogies and metaphors, as well as thought provoking themes of repression, passion, control and death. After watching the performance of the production, the narrative became far clearer and helped bring the subtleties of the text to life. I particularly enjoyed the intimate feel of the small theatre as it immersed us deeply into the emotions of the characters and the tensions of each scene. My interest in the play has above all been stimulated and I feel more confident in preparation for the exam”.
