Reading Mini Triathlon Event At Queen Anne’s

Tuesday 28th June 2016

On Friday 8 July, Queen Anne’s School in Caversham will host the Reading Mini Triathlon Event 2016, organised by The British Triathlon Trust and supported by ‘Katie’s Legacy’. The event is a fun, free and inclusive way for children aged 7 to 13 to experience all three aspects of a triathlon; swimming, cycling and running.

Held at the Berkshire independent day and boarding school, the triathlon is suitable for all abilities and every child receives a medal as they cross the finish line. Speaking about the event, Claire Kremer from The British Triathlon Trust, said:

“Sport is a great way to encourage children to play together, support each other and to see how fun it can be to lead an active and healthy lifestyle. Our Triathlon event offers something for everyone and we encourage every child to take part.”

The event is also being supported by ‘Katie’s Legacy’, a fund set up by family and friends in memory of Katie Henderson. Katie was a highly successful swimmer and triathlete, who participated in the elite British Triathlon Super Series, won an ITU World Age Group medal and achieved a 3rd place medal at the Ironman 70.3 World Championships.

To book a place on the Reading Mini Triathlon Event 2016, please visit and places are allocated on a first come first served basis. Event organisers are also keen to hear from any teachers, parents or members of the local community if they would like to be volunteers at the event.
