Queen Anne’s Swimmers Smash 14 Year Old School Record

Thursday 4th May 2017

Olive Richards, Harriet Seaton, Charlotte Gorforth, Georgina Lewis and Georgina Woodall represented Queen Anne’s School U13’s swim team at the Independent Boarding Schools Swimming Relays Competition on Wednesday evening, hosted at Downe House School.

All the girls swam superbly and returned home with medals to celebrate their terrific effort and commitment. They smashed a 14 year old school record in the process in the Junior 4 x 25m Freestyle Relay with a time of 1.00.58.

Competition was fierce with ten schools fighting out every relay race in some very competitive heats. Our girls came 5th overall in the U13’s 4 x 25m Medley Relay in a time of 1.10.97 and deservedly won their Silver medals by coming 2nd overall in the U13’s 4 x 25m Freestyle Relay with their new school record! Mr Blunt was particularly delighted with the spirit, enthusiasm and standard of swimming displayed by the girls. Well done and a very successful mission!!
