Queen Anne’s Swimmers Carry Their Great Form into the New Year

Wednesday 18th January 2017

Queen Anne’s came out victorious over The Abbey School after an outstanding and determined performance in the pool by the U12 and U13 teams.

U13s vs The Abbey School

Mr Blunt was delighted with the U13 team as the girls produced a really focused and determined performance at The Abbey – eventually running out deserved winners in a tightly contested gala. Olive Richards led the team superbly well and Harriet Seaton was in great form. It really was a super group effort from all. Aimee Langwade, Charlotte Goforth, Georgina Woodall, Georgina Lewis, Scarlet Rijkse and Amelie Colls all making hugely significant contributions between them – whether it be a winning performance or touching the wall just ahead of the opposition to gain another valuable point towards the overall score.

Final Result

Queen Anne’s 36 Points – The Abbey School 34 Points

U12s vs The Abbey School

The U12 swimming team produced a brilliant performance at The Abbey School, winning by a convincing margin and managing to win all 7 races. Captain, Louisa Haycock and Claudia Mowat both swam powerfully and were wonderfully supported by Poppy Winters, Madeleine Deeks, Luisa Brandon, Amelia Shaw, Isabel Welch and Lauren Stokes. Mr Blunt lost count of how many times the girls came back from losing positions to grab extra points or win the race. Terrific stuff, amazing spirit and great potential within the squad.

Final Result

Queen Anne’s 44 Points – The Abbey School 26 Points
