Queen Anne’s Sports News
Monday 20th March 2017
A round up of all the latest sports news from Queen Anne’s in the week commencing Monday 13 March.
Several staff put their rowing skills to the test with the Queen Anne’s rowing squads to raise money for their rowing camp in Portugal.
Amelia Shaw travelled up to Gateshead to compete in the National Schools Trampoline Finals this weekend. She finished 8th in the country out of 25 competitors in the U14 elite girls section.
It was a fantastic weekend all round for Queen Anne’s lacrosse with both the U12 and U13 teams putting in exceptional performances at the South West Rally.
The U13s won their pool convincingly in the morning with a clean sweep of four wins. They progressed into the Championship division and only a goal scored on the hooter by St Swithun’s stopped them taking the title. The girls finished as runners up placing second out of 15 schools.
The U12s put in a tremendous performance and showed just how far they have come over the past year with expert stick skills, powerful shots and competitive drives for the ball. The morning pool games kept the girls on their toes, and they won three out of the four games. The day was long and, at times, nerve wracking, but the girls kept their cool and went on to win the South West Rally finishing in 1st place out of fifteen schools!
