Queen Anne’s at the Ball Cup Regatta

Thursday 11th May 2017

On Sunday 7 May, Queen Anne’s Boat Club raced at the Ball Cup Regatta. The event was held at Eton, Dorney and the squad consisted of 11 girls.

In the morning the girls raced in the Junior 16 category where, Maya McCarthy, Emily Batchelor, Rachel Green and Amy Howard placed 5th and  Philippa Mundy, Alicia Buckeridge, Carla Clausen, and Charlotte Webb got a bronze medal!

Some of the girls then doubled up to race in the Junior 18 category in the afternoon. Both Junior 18 quads raced in separate heats and both boats qualified through to the final! We placed 4th and 5th in the final of the Junior Women’s 18 quads event.

Alicia Buckeridge, Rachel Green, Carla Clausen and Charlotte Webb placed 4th closely followed by….

Philippa Mundy, Lucy Daniels, Charlotte Stanton and Shannon Boyd placed 5th.

As always the girls learnt masses! The coaches were very pleased with the lessons learnt and we are hoping this race will inspire the girls for the other races we have planned for this summer.
