In the Pool with the Queen Anne’s Swimmers

Monday 25th September 2017

Last week all four year group swimming teams displayed great spirit throughout the swimming gala against The Abbey School. It was great to see the different age groups enjoying and supporting one another’s performances.

U13

The U13 team swam superbly well in a very exciting competition. The girls narrowly lost out by 1 point to the Abbey (A). They were a credit to the school throughout.

Final Result – The Abbey (A) 18, Queen Anne’s 17, The Abbey (B) 7

U14

The U14s enjoyed a very competitive fixture against The Abbey. It was great to see Ruby Millard make her swimming debut for Queen Anne’s. Harriet Seaton was in great form and was supported well by her team mates.

Final Result – The Abbey (A) 19, Queen Anne’s 15, The Abbey (B) 8

U15

The U15s narrowly lost to The Abbey (A) in a fast moving and exciting contest. All the girls gave their absolute all and looked like a real team, supporting each other through every race.

Final Result – The Abbey (A) 18, Queen Anne’s 15, The Abbey (B) 10

Seniors

It was brilliant to see a Senior swim team from Queen Anne’s compete for the first time in several years. Sophie Ekundayo swam superbly well throughout the gala. Zoe Campbell, Maddie Clarke and Amber Richards (capt) gave it everything and only a fingers distance prevented them winning the fixture in a very exciting final relay race. In the end, the girls settled for a well-earned tie.

Final Result – Queen Anne’s 15, The Abbey (A) 15, The Abbey (B) 10
