Michell House Hosts Syrian Supper Raising Over £2000

Thursday 9th February 2017

On Friday 3 February 2017, the Michell House Ladies held a Syrian Supper in aid of the Hands Up Foundation, which is a Syrian relief organisation, and they raised over £2000.

The evening was a huge success due to the combined efforts of the girls and our sponsors and supporters. We set out on this venture with the goal of raising £1000.

The evening was magical and filled with beautifully prepared and served Middle Eastern dishes, a gorgeously decorated Dining Room, and moving dramatic readings, as well as an originally arranged musical piece. With the combined total of the ticket prices, the raffle, and donations on the night, we managed to raise a total of £1890.00 at the event.

The whole school took part in the effort by holding a Mufti Day on Friday 3 February and the combined total from all the houses for the day was £415.50. A percentage was donated to the school charity, but Michell is proud to announce that a total of £2068.61 was raised for the Hands Up Foundation.

Michell would like to thank everyone who supported and attended the event. The generosity of individuals, families, and companies made it possible for them to surpass their goal.
