Medal Winning Performances at the South of England Indoor Rowing Championships

On Sunday 22 January, Queen Anne’s Boat Club took part in the South of England Indoor Rowing Championships. The event took place in Abingdon at the White Horse Leisure Centre.

QABC took a squad of 24 students ranging from 4s to U6. After a fantastic day of competition, Queen Anne’s Boat Club came away with 5 gold medals, 5 silver medals and 4 bronze.

All the girls performed at a high level but particular recognition must go to the following:

Eleanor Blois-Brooke who won gold in the Individual Women’s Junior 15 category.

Lucy Daniels who won Silver in the Women’s Junior 18 category.

Eleanor Blois-Brooke, Marjolein Hewlett, Amy Howard, Ellie Paterson – the Women’s Junior 15 sprint relay team that won gold.

Maya McCarthy, Charlotte Webb, Emily Batchelor, Lottie Botterill  – the Women’s Junior 16 sprint team that won bronze.

Lucy Daniels, Charlotte Stanton, Alicia Buckeridge, Eleanor Blois-Brooke – the Women’s J18 sprint relay team that won silver.

All 3 coaches, Miss Rutherford, Mr Morgan and Mrs Townsend were very proud of the girls successes. All students that took part, achieved a personal best in their individual races. They should all be highly commended for doing such an amazing job and for representing Queen Anne’s Boat Club so well.
