Making A Splash At The Inter-House Swimming Gala

This year’s Inter-House Swimming Gala was a huge splash!!  All houses put in a truly spirited performance and the atmosphere poolside was at times electric. The noise levels during the races almost justified Mr Gary Blunt, Head of Swimming, in wearing his favourite ear defenders!

The gala started at 3.00pm and finished just before 6.00pm on Monday 1 February.  Throughout the event there were outstanding performances, brave performances and at times individual performances that went beyond the call of duty – just to get that extra house point for the team.

Mr Blunt would like to pay tribute to the PE Department for helping deliver the event with such enthusiasm.  He was quoted saying afterwards,

“It was brilliant to witness the level of support the girls gave each other in the swimming pool today.  In three hours of swimming, there was not one false start and the girls really excelled themselves.  Queen Anne’s girls, without any doubt, know how to swim fast and when the extra effort is required, really give their absolute all.  Brilliant stuff!!”

Huge congratulations must go to Webbe House for being the overall winners.

Final Results

  • 1st Place – Webbe – 127 points
  • 2nd Place –  Wisdome – 116 points
  • 3rd Place – Maddock – 87 points
  • 4th Place Wilkins – 86 points
  • 5th Place – Ffyler – 65 points
