Music for a May Evening
Wednesday 6th April 2016
On Friday 6 May 2016, the Queen Anne’s music department is delighted to be teaming up with concert pianist Anita D’Attellis and Tamesis Chamber Choir for an evening of music in aid of Sue Ryder Hospices.
The evening will contain music to suit all tastes and as well as our guests, our very own Consort Choir and soloists will also be performing from 7pm in the School Hall. It promises to be an outstanding evening of music whilst supporting a truly worthwhile cause.
A little about our guests…
We have the pleasure of a performance from renowned concerto soloist and accompanist, Anita D’Attellis. Anita has performed in some stunning locations including Dorchester Abbey more recently. She is also the official accompanist for Benson Choral Society, Aliquando, the Henley Youth Choir, Spectra Music and the Somerset Chamber Choir. Her CD of solo piano music, Lux, reflects her passion for Romantic and Modern repertoire. On the evening Anita will perform masterpieces from the likes of Chopin, Balakirev, Mendelssohn and Gershwin with particular favourites, Chopin’s Ballade and Rhapsody in Blue.

As well as Anita we also welcome Tamesis Chamber Choir, founded and directed by Louise Rapple Moore. Louise is in great demand in the Berkshire area as a deputy conductor and has been recognised over recent years for her work. The choir consisting of around 25 singers has carved a niche in the Berkshire area singing the highest quality music and has featured several times on local radio as well as BBC Radio 3. Their repertoire ranges from sacred to popular music, spanning the centuries from the renaissance period up to the present day. Their three CDs will be available at the event with what was their Christmas CD in aid of Sue Ryder being at the forefront as some of the proceeds go directly to the charity.

Tickets for the event will cost £10 and there will also be refreshments available on the evening as well as a collection for Sue Ryder.
