Live@QA Concert Series: The Alluna Ensemble
Tuesday 14th April 2015
Students at Queen Anne’s will have the opportunity to train with professional music artists, The Alluna Ensemble, on Thursday 30 April as part of ‘Live@QA Concert Series’ – a series of specialist concerts organised by the school.
The six-piece ensemble will perform a concert at the school on Thursday 30 April at 7.30pm to which parents, pupils and the local community are welcome to attend. Founded through a shared desire to promote and perform ‘New Music’, The Alluna Ensemble was created by a group of performers from the celebrated Park Lane Group Young Artists Scheme. Dedicated to 20th and 21st Century music, the dynamic Alluna Ensemble offers unusual programmes, which present repertoire in interesting and revealing new contexts.
Mr John Padley, Head of Music at Queen Anne’s School, said,
“Queen Anne’s is delighted to welcome The Alluna Ensemble to perform at the school this April. As well as performing ‘Pierrot Lunaire’, a melodrama by Arnold Schoenberg, the group will lead a workshop for GCSE level instrumentalists, providing students with a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable experience from six professional musicians.”
