Boarders enjoy a weekend of World Activities and Food Street Market
Wednesday 17th January 2018
On Saturday 11 January we saw a closed weekend where our boarders were able to enjoy a fantastic day of cultural delights with workshops on Chinese lion dancing, Bollywood dance, African drumming, origami, World cuisine and World music. The girls participated in these sessions which culminated in them performing their new found skills to the rest of the community at the end of the brilliant event.
The closed weekend started off with a boarders dinner, where girls across all the boarding houses enjoyed catching up with their friends with all their news from the holidays. Some of our U4s and L5 girls acted as hosts to boys from Shiplake College who all seem to thoroughly enjoy the evening. The girls were then able to demonstrate their singing skills at the karaoke disco. Some of the boys tried to outdo the girls on the mics, but our girls just weren’t having it and upped the ante by getting the wonderful Miss Tilbury on stage.
A big thank you goes to our catering team who provided a fantastic lunch of street market food from around the world which the girls really enjoyed tucking into at the end of a busy day.
