Big Sleep Out 2014
Wednesday 28th May 2014
For the second year running, Queen Anne’s School have donated their school grounds as the venue for the Big Sleep Out 2014. The annual event, run by Reading’s independent supported housing charity Launchpad, helps to raise awareness and funds for the town’s homelessness.
Taking place overnight on Friday 29 August through to Saturday 30 August, the Big Sleep Out 2014 will have 100 people sleeping out for one night at the Berkshire school to help raise over £20,000 for Reading’s most vulnerable. There will be an evening of entertainment including the ‘build your own cardboard shelter competition’ and special guests, before everyone beds down for the night on cardboard with only a sleeping bag for comfort. The evening will be a tiny insight into what’s its actually like to sleep rough.
