On Monday 9 May, Queen Anne’s School will welcome Holocaust Survivor, Mala Tribich MBE, to share her testimony with our school community. Mala’s talk which will take place from 5.00pm until 6.30pm in the School Hall and whilst all parents and members of staff are welcome to attend, due to the nature of the talk, we advise that only pupils in L5-U6 attend.
Aged just 9 years old, Mala and her family fled the Nazi invasion of Poland. Over the next six years, Mala lived in a ghetto, was hidden by a Christian family, worked as a slave labourer and was imprisoned in Ravensbruck and Bergen-Belsen concentration camps. It was here in Bergen-Belsen, aged 15, where she was finally liberated by British Troops on 15th April, 1945.
This event is a rare opportunity for students, staff and parents to hear, first hand, Mala’s story of survival and gain a unique insight into the Holocaust.
