Gary Blunt – My Experiences working as a Prison Officer in Her Majesty’s Prison Service

    January 26 @ 4:30 pm - 6:00 pm

    Event Navigation

Prior to working at Queen Anne’s School as a Houseparent, Sports Coach and Head of the Duke of Edinburgh Award, one of the careers Mr Gary Blunt held was as a Prison Officer (from 1991-8). On Thursday 26th January, Mr Blunt will give a talk to GCSE Religion & Philosophy students on his experiences and his views on imprisonment, punishment and the British prison system. The theme of the talk relates to important areas of ethics, politics and the law.

All L5 & U5 Religion & Philosophy students are invited to attend. This relates to the topic of ‘Crime and Punishment’ in the GCSE syllabus. Students will have the opportunity to ask Mr Blunt questions. This talk was extremely useful to Dr Beale’s L5 GCSE class last year, and Mr Blunt has kindly accepted the invitation to give this talk again.

Any students who would like to attend but are not taking GCSE Religious Studies should email Dr Beale.
