Westminster Abbey Service – Friday 23 October
Thursday 15th October 2015
On Friday 23 October Queen Anne’s will be celebrating the school’s biennial service at Westminster Abbey.
The Preacher will be The Reverend Prebendary Rose Hudson-Wilkin. The Revd Rose Hudson-Wilkin was appointed to the role of Speaker’s Chaplain in June 2010 by the Speaker of the House of Commons, Rt Hon John Bercow MP. She is the Vicar of the United Benefice of Holy Trinity with St Philip, Dalston, and All Saints, Haggerston, in the London diocese. Rose combines this parish role with the position of Speaker’s Chaplain and as Priest Vicar at Westminster Abbey. Rose is also Chaplain to Her Majesty the Queen.
Queen Anne’s are connected to the Abbey through The Grey Coat Hospital, a Christian Foundation, which founded Queen Anne’s School back in 1894. The Foundation Chalice, which will be carried to the Abbey’s High Altar during the service, is a Victorian silver chalice dating from 1844. It is one of several precious gifts given to Grey Coat since the setting up of the Foundation in 1698.
We look forward to welcoming parents, pupils, past pupils and invited guests to the service at Westminster Abbey.
