U6 Networking Dinner With Reading School

Thursday 27th November 2014

On Friday 14 November, Queen Anne’s hosted a Networking Dinner with Reading School held in the Hall. Forty-five boys and two members of Reading School staff joined forty-five of our girls and ten members of the Sixth Form team.

Each girl/boy was asked to supply a ‘fact’ about themselves and these were given out, so that each person attending the dinner had different facts belonging to five boys/girls. During the first half an hour, everyone tried to identify the owner of their facts. Some of these were quite hilarious: we had one boy who had a fight with a chicken – and lost, another with a morbid fear of mushrooms and another student admitted to having disabled the plumbing in his primary school. The girls had equally strange or amusing facts, such as one girl whose godmother had a date with Colin Firth, another whose ceiling fell down on top of her in the middle of the night and one who admits to knowing every episode of Friends off by heart!

The food was delicious and, after the main course, all the boys moved round one table to their left so that they could meet a different set of girls.  A huge thank you to Alexandra Silverlock, U6 and Dan Mead for collecting the facts from the girls/ boys respectively.
