Sports Day at Queen Anne's
Wednesday 9th July 2014
On Thursday 3 July, to celebrate the end of term, Queen Anne’s community came together to take part in a number of sporting events.
In the morning, the Parent and Daughter Tennis Tournament got underway with some fantastic play from both parents and daughters. In the Father/Daughter tournament, Mr Bowater and daughter Millie were crowned champions and in the Mother/Daughter tournament, Mrs Fountain and daughter Annie were the overall winners with 15 points in total.
Following a barbecue lunch, Queen Anne’s pupils from all years and houses then enjoyed Sports Day in the sunshine. The girls competed in a wide variety of events, including the marathon of the House Relay. Congratulations to Wisdome House who were the overall winners on the day and a special congratulations must be given to Ella Harris from Maddock House who achieved a new junior record in the Shot event with a distance of 10.13m.
As well as an action packed day of sporting events, girls were treated to the delights of an ice cream van and the school’s caterers, Thomas Franks, designed and made hundreds of cup cakes in celebration of the school’s 120th anniversary.
