Results (H) Netball vs Downe House, U12C, U12D

Monday 24th November 2014

Please find below for the results from the netball matches played against Downe House on Wednesday 19 November.

U12C Team

Queen Anne’s made an excellent start to the game, making interceptions and turning play over regularly.  Unfortunately, some excellent shooting from the Downe House attack allowed them to move ahead.  However, in the second half, Queen Anne’s re-adjusted, using the space on the court much more effectively.  Excellent defence by Jessica Dalrymple created many turnovers, which were capitalised on by accurate shooting from Lucy Gregory.  As the final whistle went, the ball was in the air, but unfortunately went through the goal after the final whistle had sounded.

Final Score: 4-4 Draw

  • Player of the Match: Jasmine Veitch
  • Commended: Jessica Dalrymple and Lucy Gregory

U12D Team

This was a highly exciting match, where a number of Queen Anne’s girls made their netballing debut.  One of pupils playing was Sofya, who stepped in at the last minute, and her excellent play at Centre resulted in her being selected as ‘Player of the Match.’  Queen Anne’s fought hard for every ball and superb shooting by Niamh McKenna resulted in us reaching half time with a score of 3 goals to 2.  Despite gaining an injury in the first half, Georgie Manley continued to be instrumental to transitional play down the court, helping to secure an excellent victory.

Final Score: 6-4  Win

  • Player of the Match: Sofya Oblivantseva
  •  Commended: Niamh McKenna and Georgie Manley
