Queen Anne’s Girls Selected For The Berkshire Schools' Athletics Championships

Twelve of Queen Anne’s pupils have been selected to represent Reading Schools in the County Track and Field Athletics Championships at Palmer Park on Saturday 13 June.

Lauren Church gained automatic selection for the Senior 1500 meters steeplechase, an event in which she has strong hopes of gaining county representation.  In the intermediate category, Isabella Bowater is selected in the Javelin, following excellent wins in the English Schools’ Cup Competition and the Foundation Schools’ Sports Day. Joining her are Ella Harris in the Shot, Georgina Evans in the 300 metres, Amy Turner in the 80 metres hurdles, Nia Hudson in the High Jump and Cliona Muir in the 800 metres.

In the Junior age group, Sophie Lange, the recent Foundation Schools’ Sports Day record breaker, will compete alongside Annabelle Roberts in the Discus. Maisie Pennant, who recently recorded a huge personal best time of 2.24.1, is selected for the 800 meters. Zoe Chappell continues to impress in the sprints, gaining selection in the 200 metres and Bianca Buencamino has gained a spot in the High Jump.

The Berkshire Track and Field County Championships will take place on Saturday 13 June at Palmer Park in Reading.
