Queen Anne’s Fundraise For Mission Direct
Thursday 19th September 2013
Queen Anne’s recently sponsored Darren Rossiter, Manager of Crowne Plaza Fitness, to run two marathons in two days in aid of the charity Mission Direct and have raised £100 pounds in the process.
Darren, who often visits Queen Anne’s on Sundays to run fitness sessions for boarding pupils, came into the school to collect a cheque on behalf of Mission Direct and described the experience of running two marathons as “surreal”.
Darren’s fiancée, Charlotte Perry, will now embark on a medical mission in Kumi, Uganda for two weeks, starting on the 12 October, providing professional aid in hospitals and clinics.
Nilofar Samadi, one of the Head Girls at Queen Anne’s said “I was really interested to hear about the challenges that Darren faced while preparing and running the marathons and, on behalf of the school, we are delighted to be able to raise £100 for such a great cause. We also wish Charlotte the best of luck on her trip.”
