Monday 23rd June 2014
Queen Anne’s School in Caversham have been awarded ‘Guardianship’ of the Thames Valley Adventure Playground (TVAP) in Maidenhead. Over £5,000 was raised by the Queen Anne’s School Parents’ Association (QASPA) for the charity, which runs a playground open to children and adults with special needs.
Mrs Julia Harrington, Headmistress at Queen Anne’s, and Mrs Annette Miller, Chairperson of the Queen Anne’s School Parents’ Association (QASPA), visited the site on Tuesday 17 June to witness the unveiling of the Queen Anne’s School Guardianship sign and to take a tour of the facilities alongside Nicky Hutchinson, Donations Manager at TVAP.
Following the visit, Mrs Harrington, Headmistress, said, “We are delighted to have raised over £5,000 for The Thames Valley Adventure Playground. The staff and volunteers offer a fantastic and vital service for children and adults with special needs and Queen Anne’s aims to build strong links with the charity in the future.”
Over £5,000 was raised for The Thames Valley Adventure Playground through the ‘Back to School’ Social Evening in October 2013 and the school’s Charity Spring Fayre in March.
