Open Morning

Thursday 14th March 2013

You are invited to the Queen Anne’s School Open Morning on Saturday 11 May, when tours will take place between 9.30am and 11.00am.  Reserve a place now via www.qas.org.uk/bookonline

 Get to know us

We are an independent school for over 420 girls aged 11 – 18.  Approximately half the girls board and half attend as day pupils.  Our Open Mornings are designed to give you a flavour of the school.  Tours begin at 9.30am and will take just over an hour.  You can ask your tour guide, one of our girls, anything – they don’t have a script and will give you their honest feedback on what life as a Queen Anne’s girl is really like.  At 11.30am, we invite you to join us for some refreshments and to hear a brief talk from Mrs Julia Harrington, Headmistress.

Life on Mars?

We do not know what the world will look like in 10, 20 or 30 years’ time.  Whether your daughter becomes an engineer designing robots to navigate deep space, a multi-lingual international legal advocate, or a brain surgeon, the global landscape of her life will be ever changing.

It is our job to ensure your daughter is equipped to deal with her ‘Life on Mars’ and we aim to provoke patterns of intellectual behaviour and provide strategies that shape effective inquiry and encourage independent learning.   Visit us to find out more about our Life and Learning Programme, developed by experts, to see how we use brain plasticity theories to enhance the curriculum.

Visit us to meet those who bring our teaching philosophy to life – the girls.

Walk in our shoes

We welcome all prospective pupils to spend some time with us.  We offer regular Taster Days and Boarding Taster Stays to provide your daughter with the chance to ‘walk in our shoes’.  It’s a great way to find out what it’s like to be a Queen Anne’s girl before she joins and in our experience your daughter will feel more comfortable when the time comes to move into senior school life.

RSVP

Whether you have visited before or this is your first time, please be assured you will always receive a warm welcome.  Click here to register for the Open Morning or to book a place at any of our other events.  Alternatively, please telephone Jane or Claire from our admissions team on 0118 918 7333 – they will be happy to hear from you.
