National Biology Week 2014

Monday 13th October 2014

This week, Queen Anne’s School are celebrating National Biology Week with some exciting activities, experiments and quizzes.

On Monday, Biology Busking took place in the Science Centre. Students could take part in many activities, including blind tasting, mini beast safari, ‘name that bone’, bendy bones, naked eggs and brain clock to name a few. Buddy (the Cavachon) and Linus (the Cocker Spaniel) were also in residence, showing off their training and displaying animal behaviour in action.

The rest of the week will be filled with quizes, activities and even some planting with the eco club. Read on below to see what’s coming up:

Biology Quiz

Test your biological knowledge with the ‘name that picture’ quiz. Can you identify a range of biological pictures, even when they are really close up?

Caption Competition

Slide2

Can you think of a caption for these two pictures? Make it funny, make it exciting or even better, make it biological!

Planting with the Eco club

Join the Eco club on Thursday to get your hands dirty and learn how to plant and look after a growing plant. Take it home and see how you can nurture it.

Posing Pets Photography Competition

Have you got or do you know a cute pet? Do they pose for the camera? If the answer is yes, submit your photograph!

A full round-up of all the activities taking place during National Biology Week will be available on the website soon.
