L&Co Win Award At WOHAA Awards Ceremony

Tuesday 6th May 2014

Congratulations to Queen Anne’s team L&Co, who were awarded the runner-up prize for best presentation at the Wings of Hope Achievement Awards (WOHAA) ceremony held at the Royal College of Surgeons, London on Friday 2 May.

Members of L&Co were each presented with a trophy at the awards ceremony, which was hosted by BBC presenter Lara Lewington and included performances from the Pineapple Dance Group.

Elizabeth, a L6 student and member of L&Co said, “During the Easter holidays, L&Co were informed that they had progressed to the semi-finals in the competition. During the semi-finals stage, teams had to do a five minute presentation of their projects to a panel of 6 celebrity judges at the House of Lords in London. It was a wonderful opportunity to present in such a prestigious location to such respected judges and overall an enjoyable experience. Attending the awards ceremony on Friday was amazing and finding out that we had won an award was the icing on the cake!”

Miss Orla O’Doherty, Head of Economics and Business Studies, said, “Queen Anne’s School’s involvement in the Wings of Hope Achievement Award (WOHAA) was a thoroughly enjoyable experience and L&Co were delighted to receive a prize. Following the success of this year, we will be able to pass on a number of helpful tips to our current L6 as they look to form groups for next year.”
