L&Co Reach Semi-Finals of WOHAA Competition

Friday 25th April 2014

Team L&Co, consisting of Elizabeth Ng, Celine Yu Hei Kwan, Ifeoluwa Akomolafe, Francesca Barnes, Onyinyechukwu Ngonadi and Ifeoluwa Adaralegbe, have reached the semi-finals of the Wings of Hope Achievement Award (WOHAA).

The group’s efforts, on behalf of the Wings of Hope Children’s Charity, have helped support the education of underprivileged children in India and Malawi. The students organised a range of events, including a neon-themed Social for Years 7 and 8, and an international food cafe.

Overall L&Co managed to raise an impressive total of £1,415.46, after fundraising for the past six months. They will be presenting their fundraising to a panel of prestigious judges, led by Sir David Jason, at the House of Lords on Tuesday 29 April. If their efforts impress the panel, they will be in with a chance of winning one of six prizes, including the possibility of receiving an expenses-paid trip to India for the Best Overall Team.
