L6 Biology Trip to Harcourt Arboretum

Wednesday 17th April 2013

L6 Biology Field Work

As part of their biology course, the students study ecology. This involves investigating ecosystems using a range of sampling techniques. They will carry out the fieldwork on Wednesday 17 April at Oxford University’s arboretum at Harcourt. The university staff will run the programme and the visit will include a tour of the arboretum.

In addition, students will study succession at Watlington Hill on Wednesday 26 June. This is run by Queen Anne’s biology staff.

The total cost will be £23.50, which will appear on the school bill. Your daughter should come suitably dressed for inclement weather as we will be working outside. She will need:

•a waterproof coat (and trousers if possible), or sunscreen if it is sunny
•shoes suitable for work in the field
•a notebook and pencil
•a small rucksack or equivalent

A packed lunch will be provided on each day. Should you require any further information please contact Mr Rich on 0118 918 7351.
