Junior Success At The National Schools’ Lacrosse Championships

Wednesday 2nd March 2016

Inspired by the fantastic achievements of the senior teams last week, Monday and Tuesday saw our U15A, U15B and U14 and U13 lacrosse teams compete in the National Schools’ Lacrosse Championships held at Surrey Sports Park.

Please find below for a summary of results from all our teams who participated:

  • U15A Team – Reached the Final 16
  • U15B Team – Finished in 3rd place in a competitive pool
  • U14 Team – Reached the Final 16
  • U13 Team – Won three of their games in their pool against some strong opposition

The U15A team progressed to the final knockout stage with five victories and one draw in their pool. This included impressive victories against Bradfield College, St Albans High and Haberdashers Askes School. Luck was not with them for the knockouts however as they were drawn against Godolphin School, who went on to win the Final. The U15B team also progressed into the final knockouts thanks to fantastic victories against Godolphin School, Wycombe Abbey and Berkhamsted School. They then went on to beat Lady Eleanor Holles School before missing out on a place in the Semi-Final place by just one point.

On the last day of the championships, our U14 and U13 teams also played with much determination and character. The U14A team enjoyed convincing victories against Cheltenham Ladies, Heathfield and Godstowe Schools in the pool stage to progress to the last 16 in the Cup where they were knocked out by eventual Semi-Finalists St Catherine’s. Our U13A team beat three schools in their pool, including a very impressive 3-1 victory against a very strong North London Collegiate side.
