It’s All Happening in Dramaramaland!…

Wednesday 30th April 2014

The drama department has hit the ground running this term, with the Performing Arts Centre a hive of activity. Recent days have seen a whole day’s rehearsal for the forthcoming L4 showcase performances of “Cinderella” next month and, at the opposite end of the school, the A2 Theatre Studies examination performance took place in front of an appreciative audience of about 50. Rehearsals for the AS exam performance and the 5 groups of GCSE girls continue to take place with healthy regularity. This week has also seen a very successful drama showcase performance.

The main production of the term is the junior production of “Peter Pan”. About 80 excited 4s and U4s were eagerly anticipating the cast list which was published a few days ago. Peter Pan will be played by Katie, 4, and the hiss-worthy Captain Hook by Frankie, U4.

Preparations are also underway for drama activities on Open Morning when about 20 of dramaramaland’s finest will be involved in various madness and mayhem in the PAC with Mr Punter. Similarly, drama performers for Speech Day are currently working on their speeches.

We are also making plans for forthcoming Masterclass workshops to be run by RSC actor Gerard Logan, and former Queen Anne’s student Nicola Millbank (“Silent Witness”, “Mr Selfridge”, “The Last Weekend” “Pramface” and “Mount Pleasant”).
