Funding Confirmed For All Queen Anne's 'Tycoon in Schools' Entrepreneurs

Wednesday 21st October 2015

Congratulations to our U4 (Year 9) pupils who have successfully received funding from the ‘Tycoon In Schools’ initiative for their companies “Picture This”, “GlamCans” and “RustiQ”.  This is the first time that all of our groups have successfully receiving funding for their business ventures.

The three companies will each receive a start-up loan of approximately £500.00 and will commence trading their products on Monday 2 November.

The groups taking part in this year’s “Tycoon in Schools” Challenge are:

“Picture This” are a team of 7 pupils who will be selling picture frames decorated with backing paper and string so that polaroid pictures can be displayed on miniature pegs.

“GlamCans” consists of 8 pupils and the girls will be recycling tins into a glamorous, fashionable and funky … GlamCans with a multitude of uses!

“RustiQ” is the largest of the 3 companies with 9 pupils involved and will be producing slate chalk boards for the home, for school and for the office.

The next stage of the competition will see all three companies begin trading on Monday 2 November with the trading phase running until Friday 18 December.

‘Tycoon in Schools’ is a nationwide campaign to get Britain’s school children involved in entrepreneurship and gives students an opportunity to experience running a real life business, from creating a business plan to actually trading – all while at school.
