Fun at the Fayre

Thursday 2nd May 2013

On Saturday 27 April, QASPA held their annual Charity Spring Fayre and despite the changeable weather, the event was a huge success.

The day started with an open house for pupils and their families to have an informal look around school and those arriving early to the Fayre managed to catch a glimpse of 200m Paralympic Gold medallist Richard Whitehead being interviewed by the U6 PR prefects Jessica Miller, Lucy Egger and Georgina Thomas.

The PAC was full to the brim for the question and answer session with Richard, which inspired pupils and parents alike and many took the opportunity to hold his Gold Medal as well as take photos with the athlete.

The Fayre itself was once again packed with a fantastic selection of stalls and refreshments including an inflatable obstacle course, the Leavers v Stayers lacrosse match and the U12/U13 tennis tournaments. With a little help from the school’s new catering company Thomas Franks, Mrs Harrington sautéed her way to victory in The Ready, Steady, Cook competition which was judged by representatives from the charities TutuDesks and Thames Valley Adventure Playground (TVAP).

The grand total raised by the event was approximately £5,000 so a big thank you to QASPA and to all who came along on the day.
