Dramatic Times Ahead!

Thursday 4th September 2014

An exciting diet of dramatic goings on has been planned for the Michaelmas Term in dramaramaland at Queen Anne’s.

Pupils will be able to enjoy a visiting production in September (Tuesday 23) when Splendid Theatre Company bring their production of “Woyzeck” to the Performing Arts Centre. The performance will be followed by a Drama Workshop for an invited group of girls.

RSC actor, Gerrard Logan, will bring his new one-man show “Wilde About the Boy” to the Performing Arts Centre on Monday 10 November. The play explores the time Oscar Wilde spent in Reading Gaol. Gerrard is an Olivier-nominated actor whose last show won him great critical acclaim and the prestigious “Best Solo Performance Award” at Edinburgh. Gerrard will be running a Masterclass in the evening for pupils.

Finally, a Q&A session with former Queen Anne’s student and up-and-coming star Nicola Millbank, is planned for this term. Nicola, who left Queen Anne’s in 2006, trained at Arts Ed Drama School in London and, since graduating, she has hardly been out of work since. Her recent television credits include: “Mr Selfridge”,“The Last Weekend”, “Pramface”, “Silent Witness” and “Mount Pleasant”. She is currently working on a pilot tv series called “Flatmates.”
