Dramanauts Do Us Proud (again!)

As expected, our drama girls provided a thoroughly entertaining evening of drama , in front of an audience of approximately 100 people, in the Drama Showcase Evening on Monday 11 November.

Two of our A level students, Alexandra Griggs, U6, and Tiajna Izekor-Amayo, U6, performed a piece they had devised themselves, using as their stimulus, Salvador Dali’s painting “The Metamorphosis of Narcissus”. Their work explored the idea of body image and the way in which we are perceived by others. This powerful and intense performance will stand them in good stead for their exam performance in the spring term.

Not to be out-done, some of the U5 drama girls performed a shortened version of “Twelfth Night” directed by Mrs Galmiche. Their work was full of energy, fun and the simple joy of sharing their performance with an audience – in dramaramaland, we always talk of “sharing” or “giving” a performance to an audience as opposed to just “doing” a performance).

The evening concluded with refreshments in the Rehearsal Room and informal chats with drama staff. Oh, and lots of chocolates for the performers!
