Drama Prize Winner Wins Place with London Theatre Company

Monday 30th June 2014

The sun is shining in more ways than one this summer for one lucky Sixth Form student from Queen Anne’s School in Caversham.  18 year old Tiajna Izekor-Amayo, a drama prize winner at the school’s annual Speech and Prize Giving Day, has won a place with “Fourth Monkey” theatre company, a professional theatre troupe based in London. Tiajna will initially work with the company as an actress for a year with an option of extending this to three years if she wishes.

Tiajna is following in the footsteps of two other Queen Anne’s girls who have worked for the theatre company, including Jessica Webber who is currently training to be a professional actress at the Drama Centre in London.

Tiajna’s success this year follows her success last summer when she won a place with the National Youth Theatre in London.

Head of Drama at Queen Anne’s, Rhodri Punter, said “Tiajna stood out as a girl with huge potential many years ago and her recent success is a just reward for her energy and enthusiasm”.
